Today let’s talk a bit about the 5 “Truth about Destination Weddings” some myths and tips on planning your wedding in Paris and making the most of your trip here. From the uncertainty of whether to elope or not, to the relationship you’ll have with your english speaking wedding planner.

1.Do it! If you’re thinking about doing a destination wedding in Paris, do it. You’ll never regret it. They’re every bit as beautiful as a traditional wedding, they can be cheaper, and they are unique, interesting, and an excellent memory to keep. I especially created Elope in Paris because of my love and desire to create more intimate ceremonies that reflect the true love of a couple.

2. Cost. Of course planning a destination wedding can be cheaper, than doing one back home. But be sure to be honest with your wedding planner about the budget you have in mind – whatever it is, your planner will be able to work with it, and find you the very best vendors and venues possible – as well as make informed suggestions helping you to cut unnecessary costs. And most importantly come up with creative ideas based on things you’ve never thought possible.

3. Guests. As destination weddings are more intimate – there is a smaller, closer group of guests and with this more intimate setting, the focus is more on having a really good time, more on you and less on traditional elements that may bring a lot of unwanted stress. This also enables you to attain a higher quality of services – your budget will go a lot further if you only have ten people to cater too. The experience will be richer, more concentrated and more fun.

4. Honeymoon. If you choose a destination wedding, you have the two-in-one bonus of a holiday at the same time, and where better to honeymoon than in the most romantic city in the world – Paris! You could also take the opportunity to travel throughout Europe – France is a stone’s throw from Italy, Spain and the UK – all excellent places for a romantic, intimate honeymoon. Some of our couples make the most of being in Europe.

5. Planning time. Unfortunately, it’s a myth that it takes less time to plan a destination wedding. You have to take into consideration the fact that you may not be familiar with your destination, its culture, service providers and customs.

It is consequently imperative to have a wedding planner who is familiar with all of these things, and most importantly, that you trust. Your relationship with your planner will last for months, as your destination wedding comes together….take the time to feel out your planners experience and personality.

We’re super excited to be getting into picnic weather here in Paris as the wedding season starts. Hope you’re having a great week so far!  That’s it until next time …xx Yanique.
